Drapeau runs as
Bencher of the Law Society
Ottawa - March 10, 2003
Barrick Poulsen LLP, barristers and solicitors, announces
that Colonel Drapeau , counsel, confirmed today his intention
to run in the coming election for Bencher, Law Society of
Upper Canada. Benchers are responsible for the 'governance
of the profession.' The Election is scheduled for 30 April.
Each Ontario lawyer will cast a vote for 20 Benchers inside
Toronto and 20 outside Toronto.
“The Law Society needs new blood”,
says Michel. “I am willing and ready to use my skills
and abilities to promote our institution and to take an active
part in its governance..” Michel went on to state that
his campaign for bencher will be pragmatic and frugal and
“if elected Bencher, my approach will be the same, conservative
and fiscally prudent with LSUC finances.”

announces elections results for Benchers.

Barrick Poulsen LLP, Barristers and Solicitors, confirms that
Colonel Drapeau, counsel, gathered a total of 866 votes and
ranked 43 for election for Bencher for outside Toronto.
“Although not sufficient to get elected”
noted Michel “it is more than enough to indicate
that it was a worthwhile attempt at making my services available
for the collective good. The fact that I received so many
votes is due to the obvious support and encouragement from
many colleagues across Ontario.”
